OUR BEGINNING

James is our middle child. He loves football, trips to the cinema, good food and spending time with his friends.
Our own experience of trying to find the right short-break support for James made us think about what we wanted that experience to look and feel like for him.
That soon grew into something we hoped could help other families too.
Our story started here.
Meet James!
OUR APPROACH
That’s why we take the time to find out what works for each child.
We get to know what they enjoy, how they communicate and what makes them feel comfortable. We work closely with families from the beginning, so what matters to them and their child is part of the support we provide.

Build confidence · Make friendships · Make happy memories · Discover interests · Grow independence · Find calm

OUR SUPPORT
So we can shape our support around what they need.
Support looks different for every child. Explore some of the ways we can shape their time at New Beginnings around what works for them.
Every child or young person is supported as an individual. We take into account their needs, routines, communication, interests and preferences, so their support can be shaped around what works for them.
Some children and young people may need additional support with parts of their day. We work with families to understand their individual needs and agree how they can be safely and appropriately supported during their time with us.
Children and young people can enjoy a range of recreational, sensory, creative and social activities, with opportunities to make choices, build relationships, discover interests and try new experiences.
Some children want to be active and social, while others may need quieter time or space to regulate. Our different spaces can be used flexibly, depending on what works for each child throughout their day.
OUR SPACE
Different spaces for different moments.
From getting involved in activities to taking some time out, our spaces give children and young people different ways to enjoy their time with us.

03 Who & how we support
New Beginnings welcomes children and young people aged 8 up to their 18th birthday. Support is shaped around each child following an individual assessment.
During term time, sessions run on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am–4pm. During school holidays, sessions are also available Monday to Friday from 8am–6pm.
Every new family starts with an enquiry. It gives us the chance to learn more about your child or young person, what works for them and how we may be able to support them at New Beginnings
Funding & payment
Families can access New Beginnings through private payments, Direct Payments or Personal Budgets, depending on their individual circumstances. If you're unsure about your funding options, please get in touch and we'll be happy to discuss them with you.
